Deer Fawn (California)
Paicines, California. This cute little baby deer showed up with its mama almost every day to graze and–believe it or not–slurp up water from a dripping faucet! (There was a creek nearby. šš¤£)

Yellowstone National Park. This little (or big) cutie pie was right outside our site in Grant Village, so I ran out and took a few pictures. I made sure to stay on the other side of the roadāwho knew?āit might be Feisty Frizzle and her baby! (See Feisty Frizzle, Critter Sightings.) The mama seemed a…

Yellowstone National Park. Grizzly 399! Blurry picture, furry bear. This was super cool, especially noting the fact that she got hit by a car and died only four months later.
Yellowstone National Park. This big olā bison was slurping up muddy, seeping thermal water. Each time after doing that, he would lick his nostrils. You would be alarmed at how deep the tongue went into the nostril. He also had a tendency to yawn.
Olympic National Park. This deer was spotted on the shores of Lake McDonald. (Hint! The rocks are NOT colorful! The lake is pretty, but donāt be deceived by the edited pictures on Instagram. We were.)
