Snake on Sea Lion Caves Pathway (Oregon)

A snake coils itself.

Florence, Oregon. We were walking down the Sea Lion Caves Pathway in high hopes of seeing sea lions gathered by the hundreds in the sea caves. The pathway was just basically a sidewalk, one side being a drop-off into the Pacific Ocean, and the other being a steep but short bank. That’s where we saw this snake.

There were actually two snakes; this one and a smaller garter snake. And there was a third (well, it was a big lizard, but we thought it was yet another snake).

A snake scurries away in hopes of reaching its hole.

We finished walking along the pathway, and went down a suspicious elevator into the Sea Lion Caves.

There were no sea lions.
