Grizzly 399! (Wyoming)
Yellowstone National Park. Grizzly 399! Blurry picture, furry bear. This was super cool, especially noting the fact that she got hit by a car and died only four months later.

Yellowstone National Park. This cute little guy was right on the side of the road. Unfortunately we were on the opposite side, so I zoomed in to the max to snag this shot. We were also driving slowly down the road, so maybe that’s why the picture is so blurry. (Okay, I’ll quit making excuses….
Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. We drove down this road in high hopes of seeing exactly this kind of thing. These black bears were so fun to watch, especially the adorable cub. It was extremely disappointing when the baby bear vanished down the other side of the hill.
Olympic National Park. This deer was spotted on the shores of Lake McDonald. (Hint! The rocks are NOT colorful! The lake is pretty, but don’t be deceived by the edited pictures on Instagram. We were.)
Seaside, Oregon. My family and I were surprised to see elk right on a beach in Oregon. It’s always neat seeing the same animals in different places! (Our wimpy truck got stuck in the sand multiple times in one day. And, humiliating as it was, we got pulled out twice by the same people! But…
Yellowstone National Park. This dude was clopping down the road. Bison commonly cause traffic jams in YNP. It’s worth it the first few times, but if you’re there a whole summer, you’ll know what I mean by “boring”. 😛 The proud guys think they own the roads. And everything else.
Yellowstone National Park. This big ol’ bison was slurping up muddy, seeping thermal water. Each time after doing that, he would lick his nostrils. You would be alarmed at how deep the tongue went into the nostril. He also had a tendency to yawn.
Wow! Y’all saw 399?!? Big fan! Have you seen the documentary?
Yep! It’s pretty cool.
