National Elk Refuge, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. These guys weren’t exactly cute, and they also weren’t the type of bighorn sheep we were used to seeing. Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. We drove down this road in high hopes of seeing exactly this kind of thing. These black bears were so fun to watch, especially the adorable cub. It was extremely disappointing when the baby bear vanished down the other side of the hill.
Yellowstone National Park. This big ol’ bison was slurping up muddy, seeping thermal water. Each time after doing that, he would lick his nostrils. You would be alarmed at how deep the tongue went into the nostril. He also had a tendency to yawn.
